Getting older has it advantages and it surprises. I was surprised by DeAnn McCord and Marian Brooksby. Wayne made all the plans and told me we were going to Birmingham to a meeting and had to stop off at the airport on our way and pick up the speakers that were coming out of Atlanta Georgia. They were here for 6 days and we took them everywhere.

First to the Civil Rights Museum. De Ann was excited to learn about Civil Right and the advents leading up to it. The museum has a time line starting in about 1950 with "The Letter from Birmingham Jail" urging religious bystanders to become active in the movement . Including such things as the Freedom Ride and ending with Martin Luther's address "I have a dream.

Marian loves looking at old houses, so we spent Wednesday morning in Old Decatur

wandering the streets taking pictures of houses built as early as 1850's. Then we went to Bank Street Antique Mall. It is a three story old building filled with the funnest antiques. Our favorite was the hats.

We ate at a fun Mexican Restaurant where we got some silly photos

Anthony was our waiter. A Southern black man in a Mexican resturaunt.

I am tired and will try again tomorrow.
